Event Details

Aging Gracefully, Governing Responsibly: Balancing the needs of aging residents with the duty to protect the association from liability.


This interactive, engaging, program will focus on the intersection of community association management and the aging resident who may no longer be able to care for themselves, or present disabilities that expose the Association to liability. Among the topics to be covered are:

  • The extent of an association's duty to aid a resident in need.
  • Liability associated with aiding an aging or ailing resident.
  • Balancing residential quite enjoyment with privacy.
  • Fair housing considerations and health and safety concerns for elderly residents with disabilities.
  • The duty to address conditions in the community that present an unreasonable risk to residents.
  • Proactive solutions to communities with ailing elderly residents.

Note: Doors open to managers and homeowner leaders only from 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., then the individual ticketed business partners can enter at 11:30 a.m.


Late registration is after 5:00 pm on September 25th.

Registration will be closed on September 30th at 5:00 p.m.
